JADE from JADE LEES-PAVEY

Working on the unceded lands of the Boonwurrung (South-East Victoria, Mornington Peninsula), Jade has been practising as a multi-disciplinary artist for over 30 years. Throughout this time, Jade has been both creating and teaching, developing concise bodies of work while also sharing skills through facilitated workshops and classes.

In her practice, Jade seeks to create meaningful works that sit lightly in the world. Through recycling, upcycling, and incorporating found objects alongside new materials, she aligns her artistic process with her personal values of environmental respect and thoughtful making. This material approach supports her investigations into political and personal themes, where feminism and social justice intersect with the artist’s own reflections.

Completing a BA Fine Art (Sculpture) degree at RMIT (Melbourne) in 2026, Jade has continued to expand her practice through solo and group shows, residencies and most recently the Community Crochet Project, a socially engaged project supported by the Frankston City Council’s Artist Project Grants. Her previous major studies in Photography and Printmaking provide valuable foundations for her current study and practice.
